Here we all are – paying attention to Tony Sullivan from Victorian Textiles as he talks to us about all the new products he has for quilters in Oz!
There were wonderful Hoffman fabrics, assembled in packs in a HUGE range of colours and styles. Tony also mentioned we should go to:
for their free patterns.
There was also a lovely range of brilliant new Matilda’s Own templates for some wonderful patterns. If your local quilt shop doesn’t have them, ask them to get the new templates in for you. Tony brought them along with a block made up for us to see how they work.
Also, Tony brought this wonderful fusible binding for edging bags and anything else you would like to use it for – the photos above and below don’t do it justice – again, ask your quilt shop to get it in if they don’t have it – it is a wonderful product. Tony also had some great bag patterns and a new batting for bags, as well as a new all Aussie quilt wash product. All in all it was a great talk from Tony.
This quilt above and below, was also brought in by Tony – having been made by Meredithe Clark, using her templates which were made up by Vic. Textiles. It is in the latest Issue of Quilters Companion magazine.
Here Maggy displays her gorgeous present from her Bathurst angel. Dianne R was able to provide a clue for Maggy as Di had seen it made up for a class in the Bowral quilt shop. Any hints anyone??
Hermione has finished off this beautiful UFO made with charm squares – a wonderful effect.
Above and below is this wonderful black and white – with a little red – effort by Lyn, Sue’s sister. Absolutely gorgeous!
Again, above and below from Lyn, this exquisite pink and chocolate teddy bear quilt for her 8 year old grand daughter.
Now we come to Lyn’s sister Sue, and we can see where her talent comes from! This beautiful quilt full of appliqué, stitchery and piecing – called Tail feather. The photos don’t do it justice.
Jennifer’s beautifully quilted tumbling blocks lap sized quilt, in lovely blues.
Fran’s Playing card challenge from Bay Quilters – note photos of various clubs on the 3 of Clubs!
Marilyn – an absolutely beautiful butterfly bag in gorgeous oriental fabrics.
Marilyn again with her candlewick table/bed? runner. Her usual brilliant standard of work. I am pretty sure this is the work she started in a class at the Adelaide retreat.
Nad wait, there’s more – a glorious butterfly wall hanging from Marilyn – I hope you can see how beautifully it is quilted.
From Wyn, this pretty brocade bag – see front and back – was a kit. While the brocade was a bugger to sew, it does look lovely.
Virginia’s red delicious – a sterling effort! It really is a beautiful quilt from Esther Aliu and Virginia’s depiction is just gorgeous. I am only up to block three, but am getting there!
Her Robyn has used a panel and given it her own unique touches – see close up below. A really sweet tablecloth.
And that is it until Wednesday 7th April, when many of us will be working on our Bedford Mystery quilts.
